The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers looks to sustain their unbeaten run as they fended off the Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Lady Eagles in a 25-18 triumph to stay alive on the fourth set of Game 3 in the UAAP 79 Women’s Volleyball campaign at the University of Santo Tomas yesterday.

Opposite Hitter Kim Kianna Dy delivered a solid late scare as she fired back-to-back kills, 23-18, to stretch DLSU’s lead to five points.

                SET SCORES – Set 1: 19-25; Set 2: 25-14; Set 3: 18-25; Set 4: 25-18.

DLSU’s inconsistent set wins

During Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Lady Eagles’ opposite spiker Alyssa Valdez’ absence in her team’s clash against De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers, ADMU’s struggle was real. After the deadlock between the two teams after Set 4 was finished, the next thriller set will decide the fate of DLSU’s unscathed two-win streak.

Both teams gained alternate set points in the previous frames. This only mean one thing: The match is intense and the crowd is expected to be in the edges of their seats once Set 5 commences.

Curves

Upon the dazzling performance of De La Salle University (DLSU)’s wonderwoman Kim Kianna Dy, are the lifting of heavy weights done by Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) because of the disappearance of Alyssa Valdez. And DLSU looks to take an aggressive operation of stripping ADMU’s chance to extend its appearance in the tournament.

In the past, ADMU was one of the top teams, known to have infamous players like Valdez. But with her absence as one of the best-performing players of Ateneo, the chances of triumph for the team is brittling down gradually, fading with the winds of their fate.
